I am a 33 year old fellow from the South Coast of England.
For the last 10 years i have seen the degeneration of my local area as a side effect of being a EU Member State (United Kingdom).
Whilst i appreciate we as a Nation need to have ties with Europe I do not believe this is best suited as a member of the European Union.
I just had a really eye-opening experience on the train popping into Brighton (Hove) to do a spot of shopping. As I borded the train it became obvious that a group of four giggly girls were comparing stories about how they had really "stuck it to racist, fascist evil UKIP" the other day (referring to the UKIP Public Meeting in Brighton/Hove)... I resisted the temptation to speak out to their comments as didn't want a row breaking out; but then one of the girls remarked that "anyone who votes or supporters UKIP is a vile racist who had no place in civilized society". Suffice to say this made me snap... I rose above the headrest behind 2 of them and asked "I am a UKIP supporter, I am most definitely NOT racist and I was deeply offended by the declaration one of them had made in particular and that the attitude of all of them was undemocratic, vile, dishonest and that they should not be elevating their voices in such an offensive manner"... To my utter astonishment another lady, this one older (50's) perked up with the remark that "UKIP were racist as they were against 'people of colour'" to which I pointed out that UKIP were the only party out of the five (including the Green's) that supported the re-connection with the Commonwealth that Labour had signed away when putting pen-to-paper on the Lisbon Treaty, this meaning immigration from not only the 27 Eurozones, but the rest of Europe and the rest of the world, specifically the Commonwealth (which is personally one of the reasons I favour UKIP) would become more likely under UKIP. "The Commonwealth are predominantly Black and Asian countries, so how can anyone even consider UKIP as racist?" I remarked, I also went on to say that The Labour Party had former BNP members, yet UKIP ban further far-right members, and although you might hear about the UKIP members who were 'bad-eggs', they are no-longer attached to UKIP because of their behaviour. I remarked that I had never heard of the UAF or Hope Not Hate campaigning against the Labour Party for willfully accepting former Far Right members in favour of paying for foreign born people of other ethnic backgrounds to leave the country should they come to power. (yes that is a fact look it up on the BNP policies section of it's website) I also pointed out that UKIP had a thriving ethnic base growing faster than that of any other party and that I found it disgusting how Black and Asian UKIP members had recently been verbally attacked by these so-called anti-fascists, with remarks such as "Oreo" and "Coconuts" being considered acceptable to be said. Suffice to say the carriage descended into complete silence following this, and upon leaving the carriage getting off the train I felt a level of uncertainty as to whether my comments had been well or poorly received or whether I would be having a drink bouncing off the back of my head as I left the carriage. However as I stepped off the train a reassuring smile and wink was received by myself by a 40-something lady sitting near the door. My honest opinion is the UAF and Hope Not Hate are made up of a small portion of well meaning but mislead people who believe the media rhetoric, the rest of the party are made up of giggly "individuals" such as the above example that stroke their own egos attacking people who cannot defend themselves and individuals representing the Left on the political scale, who want to damage UKIPs reputation because they cannot answer their policies. You may ask me what I mean by "UKIP members cannot defend themselves", what I mean is, UKIP members cannot answer back to this aggressive posturing or risk being labeled aggressive and Far Right by the National Media. You will never see a supposed 'Anti-Fascist' abusing a pensioner in the media because this would support UKIP regardless of us all knowing it happens. However if a UKIPer shouted back at a 16-17 year old holding up a "UKIP is Fascist" placard, you can be well sure it will make the media headlines. So all I will say in conclusion is this; Try to educate people but expect to be abused in the 'line-of-duty', as the media and the other parties have made this socially acceptable.
For me it is unforgivable, but there is nothing we can do about it for now...
Let's address all of these individuals person by person shall we and for the moment completely ignore just how dirty a tactic this is and how pathetic the Liberal Democrats have shown themselves to be publishing this video...
1- William Henwood - UKIP candidate in Enfield - "[Lenny Henry] should emigrate to a black country. He does not have to live with whites".
Middle section- Showing comments and phrases/words used by about 10 UKIP members trying to pass the party off as being racist, homophobic, Islamophobic and sexist.
But shall we all remember one thing please.
The above names are from 2 years of UKIP history. If you looked at a 'whole' parties members you would find all kinds of disgusting behaviour.
It is the action taken by said party that makes all the difference. The fact is the trouble-makers were dealt with accordingly.
7- This Liberal Democrat video was posted dated May 14, 2014:
It quite clearly is dated May 14, 2014 and has Demetri Marchessini listed as a "Major UKIP donor" when in reality...
But of course! The Liberal Democrats are known for there honesty aren't they?!
This video is a exert of a unnamed individual in the audience of BBC Question Time which took place in Southampton. A man shouts down and verbally abuses UKIP leader Nigel Farage in a dramatic and pre-rehearsed manner.
Fair enough you might think? Doesn't like UKIP policies, not that he constructively attacks any of them I might add...
But who is this every day Joe member of the audience?
Meet Charlie Bloom, Liberal Democrat Member, activist, donation seeker and volunteer seeker... Who also happens to be the ex-husband of a current Eastleigh Liberal Democrat county Councillor, who also happens to be in a relationship with the lead Lib Dem Councillor in Eastleigh.
Oh and did I mention that he has 2 daughters who are both former county Councillors for the region?
...oh! and did I also forget to mention that a close family friend is current Eastleigh MP for the Liberal Democrats Mike Thornton...
...honest trust-worthy bunch these Lib Dems...
But hey... UKIP are singularly the only party that has the odd questionable character...
2- Meet Liberal Democrat for Redcare and Cleveland Council candidate Dave Stones who refused to apologise for making the following Racist and Islamophobic statement:Regarding the mosque being built near ground zero. I say let them build it. But then, across the street we should put a topless bar called “You Mecca Me Hot” … and next to that a pork rib restaurant … Then we’ll see who’s tolerant.”
I have literally lost count of the numbers of times I have had to say this, possibly because UKIP seem to be the main focus of media and other party attention at the moment but...
ALL parties have questionable characters. It's how that party resolves such problems that matters. As I have proven to you above UKIP take action against there members.
Why don't people Google racist, homophobic and sexist events at other parties and see what action those parties took against those members because I know for a fact that most of the ones I talk about remain at their respective parties.
Once again I find myself having to post this picture:
It's obvious for all to see that people are worried about UKIP which is why all of these negative stories are out right now.
Please please please get into contact with a local UKIP representative or even me on Twitter (@ThomasEvansUKIP) if you have any concerns about UKIP or are thinking about UKIP and need questions answered.
Be safe... Don't forget to vote in the European and County Council Elections!
My appearance on 'BBC Question Time Extra Time' yesterday (09/05/2014). ...Answer followed chap saying that UK would struggle without the EU and that the people of the UK would struggle to find jobs if we left the EU and trade would suffer... He also rambled about how UKIP were "scaremongering" and causing a climate of "hate"... This was my answer and subsequent debate with Stephen Nolan and John Pienaar...
I have held off from delving head-long into an article about the UKIP posters until I knew how they would be received. I was intending on leaving it a couple of weeks after the release of the £1.5 million campaign so I really could comment on each of the areas around the country. How it would impact on polling. If maybe one or two of them would be targeted for demonstration. But after the last few days on Twitter with people proudly showing off criminal damage against the posters I got the itch to type an article. Unfortunately I cannot address specific comments I have read online, although I really would like to address one or two people's utter ignorance and stupidity (including one very notable one who wrote and directed a very prominent television comedy), however due to people not giving me permission to reflect the comments and the inability those people would have to respond to my take on the comments, I am unable to post them. What I will say though is it's worth going on Twitter and looking through the comments and photographs some people have proudly taken and posted. Let's just make one thing clear though. There have been a substantial number of people laughing up criminal damage, encouraging further acts of criminal damage and condoning criminal damage in a effort to 'big up' their social reputation and "look cool".
For me it reminds me of a high-school bully punching a far smaller and younger individual in a playground in a attempt to impress fellow students. It's not clever, it's not intelligent and it should never EVER be applauded. Especially under the false vale of "anti Fascism" and "being against racism". It makes me furious to see organisations jump on the band-wagon of "anti-racism" when there is no example of racism in conjunction with any formal UKIP activity. UKIP get accused of "scaremongering", "coming up with false figures and facts" and "encouraging hatred towards others". For me this is a lie at best. For me the "scaremongering", "coming up with false figures and facts" and "encouraging hatred towards others" has been more prominent in the National media and these false anti-fascist and anti-racist organisations.
Highlighting individuals at UKIP by name, and giving people false verbal ammunition to fire at them. I myself have seen several notable UKIP related friends of mine forced off Twitter in the last 3 days with foul abuse, accusations and badgering. I have seen examples of abuse towards disabled UKIP members, sexist abuse and racist abuse towards UKIP members. Not once have I seen this reported in the National Press. Back on subject. The posters. I thought best to briefly give my opinion on the posters individually and point out how I see them citing facts as and where they might help people...
Poster one (pointing finger poster): "26 million people in Europe are looking for work". Well the figures given show that over 26 million people in the European Union are out of work: http://www.presstv.com/detail/2014/03/02/352881/26mn-europeans-remain-unemployed/ So not sure how anyone can argue that fact. "And whose jobs are they after?"
(UKIP Poster One vandalized in Chatham, Gateshead & Liverpool)
Poster two (EU flag burning through British flag): "Who really runs this country? - 75% of our laws are now made in Brussels". Giving my opinion in this instance is pretty pointless when you can hear the facts from the horses mouth:
(Global News- Viviane Reding: Source) Or watch Nigel Farage use House of Commons Library data to verify this fact:
(Youtube/ Twitter Aleksandra Sceglova Blogger: Source)
EU Business Burdens on United Kingdon Business:
(UKIP Business Conference Meeting)
(UKIP Poster Two vandalized in Vauxhall (London) & Newcastle)
Poster three (EU policy at work - UK workers are hit hard by unlimited cheap labour").
Well the first part I have answered above.
Are high numbers coming? Yes of course they are nobody can deny that looking at figures provided or even looking at the population increase up until 2012 in the Census.
The only hint of information about this is expressed during positive if not deceptive news segments:
(Channel Four News segment: Source)
(BBC News segment: Bulgarians & Romanians attracted by UK Minimum Wage: Source) Let's not forget that there is a inherent negative impact on low paid migrants who come to the UK to. Some can't find work and live in poverty. Another negative of having uncontrolled mass immigration. Yes folks! It impacts immigrants negatively too!
(BBC Panorama: Source) People notice these things too. Very rarely do they get the opportunity to air opinions on mainstream TV:
(BBC Question Time: Source) ...and often they get boo'd/jeered or clapped off when they tell there sad story...
(BBC Question Time: Source) The British Government don't even disclose figures on estimated migrants when countries are given the right to have citizens move to the United Kingdom, granted the BBC just laugh it off:
(BBC News Report: Source) Yet wage compression still exists even with big business through foreign labour whether people want to admit it or not:
(Sky News segment: Source) But eventually the stories come out...
(BBC Newsnight segment: Source) UKIP talk about it. Ask any young person in the south east or areas impacted by migration what their job prospects are... What sort of longterm work they can get.
(EU Parliament - Gerard Batten-UKIP: Source) I live in the south coast and not a day goes by where i don't hear a friend or someone in public bemoaning how they cannot find work. As has been heavily focused on by the National media, with well known news organisations and reporters attempting to brand UKIP posters racist:
(Sky News segment - Reporter attempts hatchet-job interview: Source) During this political climate with important elections coming. Political parties also introduce former members in an attempt to catch media attention. Even going as far as to make ridiculous assumptions and comparisons:
(BBC News segment - Former Labout MP: Source) As if most people didn't know already, it's not a race issue, for the record none of UKIPs posters make reference to race, so how anyone can blight them with the racist tag is beyond me, it's a numbers issue. 'X' numbers of job can only provide for 'X' numbers of the public. It's simple maths! We already have a housing shortage, hospital shortage, education shortage, transportation overload, jobs shortage (35% youth unemployment level and climbing), public service shortage and a mounting debt of 1.27 trillion. How can we continue like this?!
The simple answer is we cannot. Something needs to change.
Poster four ("Your Daily Grind... ...funds his celebrity lifestyle." "The UK pays £55 million a day to the EU and its Eurocrats.")
This is how seriously those at the European Parliament take their work:
(HTL: Source)
In fact expenses have become so hideously corrupted it has become a laughing matter during meetings:
(Labour party MEP on expenses 'Youtube': Source)
Now before you feel the need to point out Farage and other UKIP MEP's will get this wage and expenses. Remember three things. 1-UKIP have 12 MEPs in the EU Parliament out of 766 EU Politicians. 2-If Nigel Farage and UKIP have their way. The EU Parliament will cease to exist. Or at the very least the UK will not have any representation in a Government that restricts them from doing trade with the rest of the world! 3-Unlike other MEPs (no doubt), money's collected by Nigel Farage from the EU gets rediverted back into the party to help further their progress.
So they are NOT in it for the money. Regardless of whether the BBC and other news organisations intentionally mix up 'Allowances' and 'Expenses' to try to make an anti-UKIP (non-)story:
